May 14th saw 30 teams gather from around the province at NEB's Fun World, Oshawa for the inaugural provincial championships of the Bowl Canada Cup.

At the end of five games, Bowlerama Barrie was declared the winner, scoring an incredible 606 pins over their average. The team, consisting of Mindy Wang, Mike Eversfield, Ed Small, Ed Hanzel, and Adam Chupurnyj, will now advance to the National Championships being held in Oshawa on July 9 & 10, 2016.

Even though it was the first year, this tournament is already proving to be a marquee event, offering bowlers of all skill levels the ability to compete for a National Championship. It also didn't hurt that there was $1,000 in prize money up for grabs, provided by Bowl Ontario 5 Pin.

If you did not compete in this year's event, worry not, as next year's event will be here before you know it. Make sure to ask your bowling centre when qualifying for the Bowl Canada Cup will be, and have your shot at a National Championship.
