Ensure all athletes are present, prepared, and on time
Confirm lineups, lane assignments, and schedule awareness
Assist with uniform compliance and dress code
Keep track of equipment and team belongings
Game & Competition Responsibilities
Assist with scorekeeping accuracy (if required)
Monitor pace of play and ensure athletes follow tournament procedures
Help athletes stay mentally prepared between frames/games
Communicate with officials when necessary (rules, concerns, clarifications)
Communication
Act as the main point of contact between athletes, parents, and officials
Provide clear instructions and updates to athletes
Promote a respectful and supportive team environment
Address concerns calmly and professionally

Model and enforce the Youth Bowl Ontario Code of Conduct
Ensure athletes display respect toward:
Opponents
Officials
Coaches
Teammates
Address inappropriate behaviour promptly by reporting concerns to tournament officials. Coaches shall not confront, escalate, or directly intervene in such situations.
Safety & Well-Being
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment
Be aware of any athlete needs (physical, emotional, or medical)
Report incidents or concerns to tournament officials when required
Event & Administrative Duties
Submit required forms (travel, waivers, lineups, etc.)
Assist with uniform sizing and distribution
Help organize team logistics (travel, accommodations if applicable)
Represent the team in meetings or briefings
Team Culture & Experience
Promote team spirit, camaraderie, and fun
Encourage participation in event traditions (opening ceremonies, team activities)
Help create a positive and memorable experience for all athletes
